Power to the Mail Service
Posted 03/09/2006 by David | Permalink | Comments (0)Due to the overwhelming popularity of our mail services we have recently added capacity to mail2.no-ip.com.
Mail2.no-ip.com is now on two different networks load balanced with round-robin DNS. In this configuration we can adjust load between the networks dynamically by updating the DNS record. This technique is a great use of No-IP.com’s round-robin DNS feature that you can use with your domains that have servers at multiple sites or with multiple IP addresses.
This also means that if you currently firewall non-No-IP.com traffic to your Reflector server you’ll need to update your firewall rules. To avoid problems with future changes add these two networks to your firewall:
216.66.37.8/29 (netmask 255.255.255.248)
69.65.19.112/28 (netmask 255.255.255.240)
